Community Health Service
Today
Description
South Kaipara Men's Trust provides community services which are directed towards the needs of men, young men and their families in the South Kaipara areas.
The Trust supports men to stand tall and strong so that their relationships, families and communities may also be healthy and enriching.
Services that we provide include:
Counselling
We provide referrals (and financial support to pay for the counselling) for men, young men and their families who are seeking to make changes in their lives with the support of a counsellor. We have an experienced male counsellor who works with men as well as a female counsellor who works with children. Where appropriate we make referrals to experienced health and mental health professionals.
Father and children activities
From time-to-time, we arrange one off events for fathers and their children. These sponsored activities include fishing trips on the Kaipara Harbour and horse riding events.
Literacy
We are supportive of men and families who wish to receive literacy support. Where men are required, for instance, to complete forms for government agencies such as WINZ, we will help so that families do not have their rights to receiving a benefit removed. We support the Helensville Literacy Volunteer organisation as part of the Trust.
