Description

Approximately 9,000 Kiwis experience a stroke each year – that’s one every hour! Research shows us that within the next decade this is projected to rise by 40%.

For 40 years, the Stroke Foundation has actively promoted ways to avoid stroke and been dedicated to working closely with stroke survivors across the country.

The generosity of New Zealanders has enabled the Stroke Foundation to help thousands of stroke survivors across the country, providing them with critical services to ensure the best possible outcomes – not just for themselves, but also their family/whānau and carers too.

Three quarters of strokes are preventable, so the Foundation continues to deliver vital awareness campaigns and health promotion programmes which are critical to saving thousands of lives.

The Stroke Foundation's mission is to prevent stroke, improve outcomes and save lives.
