Community Health Service

Description

Well Women and Family Trust is a not for profit organisation whose mandate is to overcome barriers so that women feel empowered to have regular cervical and breast screening. Barriers such as transport, cost, fear, work commitments, disability, childcare, cultural and religious considerations, history of sexual abuse, trauma or previous bad experiences and language barriers.

Women often put their families first – we need to care for ourselves, so we can continue to care for others.

Our experienced female smear takers will take the time to explain in detail the reasons why women require regular screening and the process of taking a smear. We will use an interpreter if necessary.

We run FREE* clinics all around Auckland, every weekday

Phone us: 09 846 7886 or 0800729729

For women who need to go on to have further investigations (colposcopy)  we are able to provide transport and support, ensuring you understand why you are having further tests and coming with you to the appointment to explain step by step.
