COVID-19 testing update :

Access to Covid-19 Testing within the Western Bay of Plenty for the week commencing 23rd August, 2021:

  • Contact you General Practice to enquire about receiving a Covid-19 test at their Practice.
  • Visit the Covid Testing Centre at The Crossing Covid Testing Centre (Undercover carpark, Tauriko) – Monday - Sunday 23-29th August between the hours 0900 to 1500. No appointment necessary.
  • Accident and Healthcare, 2nd Avenue, Tauranga – Monday - Sunday 23-29th August between the hours 0900 - 1500. No appointment necessary. 


Western BOP Primary Health Organisation is a health care organisation focused on providing care in the primary or community setting. Our Health and Wellness Service is Nurse-led and focused on providing community-based primary health care services.

We deliver a wide and expanding range of health and wellness services which include :

  • Outreach and Community Clinics
  • Support for Breast and Cervical Screening
  • Self Management Groups
  • Diabetes
  • Weight Management
  • General Long-term Conditions (LTC)
  • Whānau Health Programme
  • Workplace Wellness
  • We have a range of clinical staff including:

    • Registered Nurses
    • Dietitians
    • Accredited Diabetes Nurse Specialist
    • Nurse Practitioners
    • Clinical Exercise Physiologist

    Clinical Services include:

    • Diabetes, heart and/or breathing conditions
    • Hospital admission follow up
    • ED referrals
    • Cervical smears including transport and home visits
    • Support to Breast Screening including transport
    • Wound care
    • Heart and BP checks
    • Blood tests
    • Smoking cessation
    • Support with GP enrolment
    • ACC

    We also provide a Co-ordinated Primary Options Mental Health Programme or see here for all WBOPPHO Medical Centres.
