Philosophy of care: Midwifery is based on the understanding that pregnancy, labour and birth is a profound life experience. For this I have the utmost respect for the birth process and the woman’s ability to give birth. I believe that pregnancy and childbirth should be treated as normal, natural and a special life event. Therefore it is part of my role in the midwifery/woman partnership to educate, inform and empower women, helping them to believe in themselves and their body’s ability to birth their baby.
I am happy to offer and support shared care with a specialist obstetrician, Ammar Al-Abid. To read more about Ammar, please click here
Back up midwife: Bronwyn Street

General Bio: I am a mother of 4 adult children and a grandmother of 2 beautiful wee boys (3 years and newborn) and 1 gorgeous girl (5 months).
I have worked within the medical/hospital area since I left school, where I first trained and qualified as a nurse at Greenlane Hospital then later trained at Middlemore Hospital as an Anaesthetic Technician. I worked as a childbirth educator and my passion has been in midwifery. I love life and everything it has to offer.
