At Keith Nelson & Associates we are general dentists with a special interest in Orthodontics. Vikki Nelson and Sophia Mahendran have completed numerous Orthodontic courses, and see a wide range of patients both children and adult for Orthodontics.
What is a General Dentist?
A general dentist is involved in all aspects of dental care and they will refer patients to a specialist dentist for procedures and treatments that are outside of their scope. They educate patients to maintain healthy teeth and gums and diagnose and treat problems of the teeth, gums and mouth. A general dentist performs the majority of dental procedures such as tooth extractions, fillings, creating crowns, bridges and dentures, root canals, teeth whitening, minor orthodontic and minor periodontic work. Dentists can administer local anaesthetics, pain relief and antibiotics.
