The Southland Branch of the New Zealand Dental Association is a professional association of Dentists and Dental Specialists working in Southland and Central Otago.

If you have a dental emergency, you should first contact your own regular dentist to arrange treatment. If they are not available, or you do not have a regular dentist, a rostered duty dentist is available. A new duty practice is rostered at the start of each week. This information is also on our answerphone message: 03 218 6800.

Central Otago

This service is operated between 9-5pm on weekends only.

If you have experienced significant dental trauma, uncontrolled pain, bleeding, or swelling relating to a tooth and wish to speak to a dentist, please phone 03 744 6157 and listen to the instructions.

You will be connected to an out of hours dentist for phone triaging. If they are not immediately available, please leave a message with your name, number, location, and a summary of the emergency, and they will phone you back.
