What is a Primary Care Practice?

A primary care practice is your medical home.  It is the place where the record of all your conditions and medical history is kept. Most surgeries employ a practice nurse who is trained to provide procedures including flu jabs and cervical smear tests.  Some surgeries also offer other services such as access to psychologists, physiotherapists or social workers. The team will vary depending on local needs, availability of these different specialists and available space.  If you check out specific surgeries on this website you can find out what is provided in each.
