Profile

Dr Alice (she/her) began her medical journey in 2014, taking time during her studies to complete an honours degree focused on chronic pain research, with particular emphasis on the transition from acute to chronic post-surgical pain. She further expanded her expertise through postgraduate studies in health policy and economics.

Her dedication to understanding and treating chronic pain stems from recognising its significant impact on New Zealanders. Through her research into pain development mechanisms, she works to advance both prevention and treatment strategies. Alice values collaborative patient care, focusing not only on treating medical conditions but also helping patients navigate the broader impacts on their lives. Committed to inclusivity, Alice is also passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ health and well-being.

Beyond her medical practice, Alice is an accomplished go kart racer. After winning the 2022 New Zealand women's championship, she represented her country at world championships in Belgium (2023) and Brazil (2024). She is also a parent to twin toddlers and finds joy in watching them grow and develop.
