Ben is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist committed to providing the highest quality of care for his patients. With a special interest in the prevention and treatment of birth trauma, he achieves the best possible birthing experience through trust and developing a therapeutic relationship with women and their LMC midwife.

Ben is also a Te Whatu Ora specialist working across Christchurch Women’s Hospital and the West Coast. Outside of work, Ben loves spending time with his wife and two young children in the outdoors, and playing music in a local session.

Ben is also a dedicated surgeon, who treats a wide range of gynaecological problems including:

• menstrual disorders (heavy and painful periods),
• post-menopausal bleeding,
• pelvic pain,
• endometriosis,
• ovarian cysts,
• fibroids,
• polyps,
• abnormal cervical smears,
• and vulval skin conditions.

He has a particular interest in minimal access surgery including:

• total laparoscopic hysterectomy,
• the laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis,
• ovarian cystectomy,
• and hysteroscopy.

Ben also offers surgery for correction of vaginal prolapse.
