Dr Ben Soole

MB ChB 2016 Auckland; FACSEP 2026

Ben is a Sport and Exercise Physician Registrar at Axis, bringing broad experience in high-performance sport. He currently serves as Team Doctor for the Kiwi Ferns and has delivered medical support across a variety of sporting codes, with particular expertise in rugby league and rugby union.

Ben was born and raised in Auckland, studying at The University of Auckland and completing his medical degree in 2015. After graduating he spent 4 years working primarily at Auckland based hospitals in a range of medical and surgical specialities, before working as a GP for 1 year. Ben commenced his Registrar training at Axis in 2021 and has recently returned following a 2-year stint in Sydney, Australia.

Ben has an interest in most sports, particularly the contact codes of rugby union and rugby league, in addition to football and tennis. Outside of work he enjoys keeping active in the gym with powerlifting, as well as spending time with his family.
