Dr Gerhard Eichhoff

Dr Gerhard Eichhoff MD, PhD is a general dermatologist with a special focus on inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis including management of acne and rosacea. He is further strongly dedicated to the medical and surgical management of skin cancer.

Dr Eichhoff graduated from the School of Medicine of the Technical University of Munich, Germany in 2006. He has an extensive background in science and was awarded a PhD in the field of Neuroscience resulting in highly ranked publications.

Gerhard has been working in the field of dermatology for nearly 10 years. He received specialist recognition as a dermatologist in 2016 after having trained in two of Germany’s most prestigious university centres for dermatology; Tübingen and Munich. His training further included rotations in private practices and two renowned centres for laser and aesthetic medicine. In 2014, he received the Diploma in Aesthetic Laser Medicine by the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald, Germany, the world’s only University-based programme in Aesthetic Laser Medicine. 

During his training, Dr Eichhoff gained expert knowledge in the field of general dermatology, allergology including patch-testing, skin cancer management and laser medicine.

Gerhard moved to New Zealand in 2016 and is also working in public as a consultant dermatologist for Capital & Coast and Hutt Valley DHB.  He has clinics at Wellington, Kenepuru and Hutt Hospital.

Dr Eichhoff was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is a member of the New Zealand Dermatological Society.

• rosacea.
