James Wilkins is a General and Oesophagogastric Surgeon providing comprehensive general surgical care to patients across Dunedin, Otago, and the lower South Island. He attended Otago medical school before training with the royal Australasian college of surgeons across New Zealand and going on to complete fellowships in Dunedin, Auckland and the UK. He has broad experience in general surgery, with particular expertise in foregut (stomach and oesophagus), gallstone, hernia, and bariatric surgery, and a strong interest in minimally invasive and robotic techniques to minimise pain and interruption to life.
