Dr John Lainchbury

MB ChB 1988 Otago; FRACP 1999

John is a consultant cardiologist with the Christchurch Heart Group and the Canterbury District Health Board. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer with the University of Otago, Christchurch School of Medicine.

As well as general cardiology, John has subspecialty interests in echocardiography and adult congenital heart disease.

Cardiologist

After completing research in Christchurch on neurohormonal aspects of cardiac disease, he spent 2 years as a Research and Clinical Fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. On returning to New Zealand he was the National Heart Foundation Senior Fellow prior to his current clinical appointment.
