Dr Krystyna Foulkes

Dr Krystyna Foulkes graduated from Medical School at Johannes – Gutenberg – University in Mainz / Germany in 1993. At the same university she followed her interest in scientific research and was awarded a Summa cum Laude and a prestigious scholarship for her Ph.D. in Neurosurgical Pathophysiology. She subsequently worked and trained in the NHS in England, prior to emigrating to New Zealand and in 2003, became a Fellow of the RNZCGP. Throughout her medical career Krystyna had a strong interest in skin cancer treatment and surgery. Dr Krystyna Foulkes is now a locum for Skin Institute.

She completed postgraduate studies with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA), obtaining Diplomas in Dermoscopy as well as Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery. Krystyna is an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the SCCA and has been an Affiliated Provider for Southern Cross Health Society for many years.

Over the last decade, Krystyna has worked in Skin Cancer Medicine in New Plymouth, providing comprehensive services, including dermoscopic diagnosis along with surgical and medical skin cancer treatments. She is experienced in performing complex surgical procedures of the skin including facial flap repairs and skin grafts.

Krystyna has a strong focus on early diagnosis of skin cancer and the provision of the most suitable skin cancer treatments for her patients, whether that be surgical, topical or medical treatments.

Krystyna is a keen tramper, kayaker and cyclist, making Tarakani an ideal landscape to reside in. She also loves the outdoors and travelling the world.
