Profile

Dr Lu’isa Fonua-Faeamani is the Clinical Director of Medical at The Fono. She grew up in Tonga, and after completing university at Otago she returned home to work at Vaoila Hospital and at Eua for three years. She then worked for 7 years at Pacific provider Langimalie Health Centre based in Onehunga, before moving to The Fono. After a year and a half, she was appointed to the role of Clinical Director. She holds an MBChB and FRNZCGP, and is a member of the Medical Council of NZ, RNZCGP. She is particularly interested in Diabetes and Women’s Health, and speaks both Tongan and English.
