Martin is a British, New Zealand and Australian trained GP who has worked in the field of skin cancer since 2000. He has completed 5 years of post-graduate training in skin cancer management to obtain a Master’s degree from the University of Queensland, which he passed with high distinction. He is qualified in dermoscopy (using a skin microscope to diagnose skin cancers early), diagnosis, biopsy and surgical techniques including skin flaps and grafts and is passionate about his work in this area of medicine. He is an affiliated provider for Southern Cross, NIB and other insurers for skin cancer checks and surgery. He also performs skin cancer surgery for Waitemata District Health Board and is on the Dermatology Subcommittee for PTAC (Pharmacology and Therapeutics Advisory Committee). He is a foundation Fellow of the New Zealand Skin Cancer Doctors (NZSCD) and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (SCCA).
