Profile

Since 2010 I have lived and worked in New Zealand in both the Coromandel and the Bay of Plenty. Graduating from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2008 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, I spent my hospital career working in picturesque Cumbria and also Northumberland in both General Practice and at the North Cumbria University Hospitals . I also hold a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science, with a specialist interest in Histology (microscopic study of biopsies).
My interest is in most aspects of General Practice, although I have a keen interest in ‘evidence based medicine’ and skin cancer and minor surgery, holding an Advanced Certificate in Dermoscopy (a specialist study of the skin) from the Skin Cancer College of Australia.
Away from medicine, I enjoy spending time with my young family and I am a semi-professional photographer.
