Dr Samantha Wettasinghe

Dr Samantha Wettasinghe leads a multidisciplinary women’s health team and ensures that all aspects of health are optimised for her Gynaecology and Obstetric patients. She has a special interest in chronic pelvic pain, menstrual disorders and obesity.

Having completed her specialist training with a focus on laparoscopy, Samantha undertook two further years of advanced training in the management of pain through Otago University, while working as a consultant gynaecologist and obstetrician at Tauranga Hospital.

Samantha has worked in women’s health in several settings, including some of New Zealand’s largest and smallest hospitals. This has given her a deep understanding of the varied issues New Zealand women face and the importance of tailoring treatment plans to the individual.
