Profile

Sue is a cardiologist who consults in Christchurch as part of the Christchurch Heart Group. She has also conducts a weekly cardiology clinic in Wellington. She was appointed Clinical Leader in Nuclear Medicine at Christchurch Public hospital at the end of 2011. This has allowed development of a nuclear cardiology service and expansion of all nuclear medicine services.

Interests

General Cardiology with an emphasis on preventative medicine. I provide a spectrum of investigational services to assist in patient diagnosis and management. These include electrocardiographs, stress testing (both exercise and pharmacological), echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, holter monitoring and coronary angiography.

My special interest is the junction between cardiology and nuclear medicine; that of functional cardiac imaging. This provides a great liaison between the 2 specialities with an immensely powerful data base and high prognostic power.

I personally undertake all electrocardiography (ECGs), stress exercise/ pharmacological tests and review and report all echocardiograms.

Subspecialties

Nuclear Medicine

I have completed 2 years post FRACP training in Nuclear Medicine in Australia and was elected as a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine in 1994.

My special interest is Nuclear Cardiology utilising my two speciality areas. I also provide remote reporting for both renal and cardiac scans.
