Georgina Welsh

Starting from a dental assisting background, Georgina graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Otago in 2012. Being bonded through a scholarship, Georgina returned back to Invercargill where she worked as a Dental Therapist treating children aged 0-18 years. She then ventured overseas to live in London for 2 years, where she worked as a Dental Hygienist alongside specialists in private practices. She then returned back to Auckland where she was a lecturer in Oral Health at AUT University. Being a Southland girl, home and family was calling. Georgina returned to the Deep South last year as a Professional Practice Fellow at the University of Otago. She joined us this year working as an Oral Health Therapist 2 days a week. Georgina enjoys attending conferences and educating patients on their oral health. She is also a member of the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal and has done overseas dental volunteer work. When she can, Georgina enjoys travelling the world and playing sport.
