Profile

Michael qualified in Medicine from the Middlesex Hospital, London and came to New Zealand in 1990 having spent 6 years in the Royal Air Force and 7 years in civilian Practice in rural Essex. He completed vocational training in General Practice in 1983.

Michael’s areas of special interest include musculo-skeletal and sports medicine, ultrasound, dermatology, emergency medicine, medical computing and rural medical politics.

He is a founding member and past treasurer of the NZ Rural GP Network; a past member of the Pinnacle PHO local management group, rural advisory group and GP executive committee. He is currently a member of Whangamatā Community Health, Midland Health Network rural advisory group and an occasional Cornerstone assessor.
