Profile

Dr Blanks was born in Tonga and raised on the outer island of Vavau. She speaks Tongan and has a good understanding of Pacific Island cultures.  She obtained her medical degree from the University of Auckland in 2007, then spent five years working in NZ hospitals in a wide range of specialties. Her passion has always been to work in general practice with a patient focused model of health care. Dr Blanks became a member of the College of General Practice in 2012. She has a wide range of interests with particular focus on women's and children's health, aged care, chronic care management and preventative medicine. Dr Blanks lives locally in Green Bay. Her husband is a physiotherapist working in both the Golf Rd practice and at The Doctors New Lynn. During her free time she is a busy mother to two young children.
