Description

NOTE - In COVID-19 Alert Level 3 - Our Takanini site 106 Great South Road is currently a COVID swab site ONLY - there are no Urgent Care or GP services at Takanini - If you need to see a Doctor please go to our Papakura site at 6-18 O;Shannessey Street.

We are a general practice aiming to provide quality healthcare to you and your family.

Consultations are by appointment only. Our standard consultation time is 15 minutes.

A Limited Number of new enrolments are now being accepted.

If you would like information about enrolling in Counties Medical GP Clinic to see one of our GPs, please call into our Papakura or Takanini clinic and one of our staff will be happy to assist you. Our Papakura Clinic is our main clinic, open Monday to Friday, with the satellite Takanini Clinic open two days per week.

We are committed to making the enrolment process easy for you -  you can either:

  • email us on reception@countiesmedical.co.nz and we can then email you the information and forms you need to complete. 
  • go to our website www.countiesmedical.co.nz and enrol directly through the website.

We encourage all of our patients to sign up to the Manage My Health patient portal - this is easy and allows you to make appointments on line without having to phone the clinic. You can also request repeat prescriptions and view your Lab Results on line.

Some enrolled patients are eligible for a low cost access fee for GP services of $19.50.  Otherwise, the service fee is $40 per GP consultation (over 18 years old). There is a standard $40 fee for all new patients for their first visit, which includes both a doctor and nurse consultation. Please phone the clinic or enquire at front reception for more information regarding your fees to see the GP or Practice Nurse.

Different charges apply to casual and non-enrolled patients and for other services.

After Hours Assistance - If you need assistance from the GP Clinic after hours, please phone on the above numbers. A Registered Nurse will answer your call.

Alternatively please present at one of our Urgent Care Clinic - 6-18 O'Shannessey Street, Papakura (open 8am - 10pm, 7 days a week) 

Our Takanini site is currently only a swabbing site - there is no Urgent Care Service there. If you need to see a Doctor for injury or urgent medical problems please come to the Papakura site

Takanini is the satellite GP Clinic of our main clinic - 6-18 O'Shannessey Street, Papakura, which is open Monday to Friday 8am to 5.00pm.
