Description
We are a family centred surgery offering a full range of high quality general medical and health services to you and your family.
Our surgery is located on the corner of Marlborough and Chartwell Avenues, in Glenfield.
Consultations are by appointment only. Our standard adult consultation time is 15 minutes, however special 30 minute appointments are required for certain procedures or medicals - check with our reception staff. Clients and patients should try to respect the 15 minute appointment allocation in consideration of other patients. Due to the introduction of reduced or free visits for children these appointments may need to be double booked at busy times.
Staff
Our team is made up of:
Four GPs:
- Dr Jon Wilcox, MBChB (Otago), DipObst, DipPharm, FRNZCGP.
- Dr Jong Keun (Tony) Ryu, MBChB (Otago)
- Dr Eun Jin (Julianne) Lee, MBChB (Otago) - on leave
Practice Manager: Susanne
Nursing Staff: Penny, Kerry and Caroline
Receptionists: Whitney, Bailey, Jullie and Susanne
Other services: We take our own blood tests 'in-house' and are happy to take blood tests for non-enrolled patients on request for a small charge.
Maternity services: Doctor Wilcox has many years of experience in comprehensive obstetric care but ceased LMC obstetric care in 2012. He can however provide integrated support services and guidance during pregnancy. We use office ultrasound for obstetric care where required and our experienced nursing and midwifery staff also take bloods 'in-house'.
Medical teaching: At other times we often have trainee general practitioners and trainee medical students who very much appreciate the opportunity to be able to further develop their healthcare learning in conjunction with our patients.

For funded patients
We have now completed a trial period for 12 months with no doctor cost for patients under 14 years. This has been supported by extra subsidies from the Ministry of Health
* From April 2019 there will be nominal clinic, public health and service fees for referrals, public health services and special medical procedures (eg. cryotherapy) for under 14 year olds and also CSC (community card) holders after April 2019. A decision on extending all of these clinic fees to non-cardholders (including over 14 year olds) will be made by 30 Sept 2019.
For specified doctor consultations By Appointment our consultation fees are still based on 15 minute consultation times and are as designated by legislation. It is likely that consultation times will be reduced in the future to 10 minutes. While we always try and give patients the time they need it would be courteous to always consider the waiting times for any following patients.
We aim to deal with a maximum of three health items per consultation and brief summary would be helpful for the doctor to mutually optimise time management.
