Milton is a small town approximately 40 minutes’ drive south of Dunedin. The practice has an enrolled population of 3000 patients. Milton Medical Centre has a GP, a Nurse Practitioner, four practice nurses and three receptionist/admin staff and is located with the District Nursing service. The practice accommodates visiting nurse specialists and has access to counselling, physiotherapy, dental and other services. The practice is typical of small town rural practice catering for the full range of general practice care including accident and emergency medicine work. The GPs perform minor surgery and fracture management in a well-resourced centre with modern technology. As a teaching practice we are proud to be a part of the next generation of GPs and nurses entering into general practice.

After hours: We partner with Ka Ora Telecare to provide same day virtual GP appointments for enrolled patients, as an extension of our regular medical centre team.
Ka Ora Telecare is available weekdays from 5pm to 8am and 24/7 weekends/public holidays.
