Description
The South Taranaki Rural Health General Practice (the Practice), located at Hāwera Hospital, is a modern service run by a team of senior skilled clinicians such as general practitioners, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, clinical nurse leaders and rural/urgent care doctors. We aim to provide a welcoming, safe environment for all with a focus on equity and patient-centred care.
Acute Clinic: STRHGP runs an Acute Clinic for people who need same-day evaluation, such as for minor illnesses or injuries. We ask that people try their own GP first as they are in the best place to help with your health needs. If you need an on-the-day appointment, please contact the Acute Clinic on or ring (06) 278 1383 and select option 2.
Staff
Your first contact with us may be with a member of our wonderful reception team. This team includes Ashley, Nanette, Storme, Fiona, Rhiannon, Zelna, Mel and Shannon.
If you have an appointment with one of our amazing Practice Nurses, you may be seen by Trish, Phillipa, Honey or Prisca.
We are proud to have a team of Nurse Practitioners available for appointments. These are Jenny Kissick, Lisa Thompson and Brigitte Lindsay.
This practice is not currently enrolling new patients.
South Taranaki Rural General practice is now taking priority enrolments only. New enrolments will be prioritised as follows:
1) Individual and families who are not enrolled with another general practice
2) Individual and families whose general practice is not in Taranaki, or is not within a reasonable distance and therefore hard to access
3) Individual and families who have complex unmet needs
