Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is an important step you can take to protect yourself, your kaumātua and whānau from the effects of the virus. Drop ins or appointments are accepted. For more information on the COVID-19 vaccines and eligibility visit Ministry of Health - COVID-19 vaccines

The majority of routine vaccinations can now be administered before, after, or at the same time as your COVID-19 vaccinations. The exception to this is the Zostavax (shingles) vaccine where a 7-day gap before or after receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 is advised. If you have any questions, please discuss with your healthcare provider.

Flu shots are also available at the following times:

Tuesdays 8.30am-6.30pm and Thursdays 8.30am-5.00pm, you can book into one of these clinics via the patient Portal or you can call us on 07-3784080 or email us to book one of these slots.

Covid-19 testing

This practice is not currently providing COVID-19 testing.  Testing is available at the Taupō COVID-19 Community Testing Centre at 79 Miro Street.

Description

At the Taupō Medical Centre we provide excellent health care services and promise to do our very best, to ensure that you and your family stay healthy and well.

Our team of professional medical practitioners, nurses, locum GPs, nurse practitioners, medical centre assistants and support staff give our patients 24 hour emergency cover, 365 days per year with an after-hours service provided through a town wide roster of Taupō doctors.

Please note that the above fees are only relevant during normal business hours. There are additional charges for after hours and public holidays

Mon – Fri8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

After Hours: phone your practice (07 3784080) and follow instructions. Call will be diverted to whichever surgery is on duty or transferred to an after hours service who can contact a GP on call

**Saturday Clinic (only on scheduled dates) - NOT a Walk in Clinic - Patients need to call practice to make an appointment  

 

After hours Option: We partner with Practice Plus to provide same day virtual after-hours GP appointments for enrolled patients, as an extension of our regular medical centre team.

Practice Plus is available weekdays 5pm-10pm and weekends/public holidays 8am-8pm.
