COVID-19 : we want to help our patients get well and protect our staff and community.

Please do not present to the clinic if you are unwell without speaking to one of our staff first.

 If you have cold or flu-like symptoms including cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, fever, runny nose or sneezing, please contact the clinic on 09 972 9020 to to discuss this with one of our team.

 COVID testing is FREE - you will not be charged for your test unless you are travelling out of NZ

 

 YOUR SAFETY

The safety and well-being of our patients and staff is a priority for us, and so patients visiting for COVID-19 testing or assessment are directed to a different parking area, away from the main entrance.  Testing is carried out in your car where possible, and if an assessment is required, this is done in an isolation room.  

This means that if you need to visit the clinic for another reason, for example your flu vaccine, you will not be exposed to any areas where COVID-19 assessments or testing is taking place.

 Testing is a vital part of stopping the spread of COVID-19, and we are happy to be helping with this part of the response plan.

Located in a modern, well-equipped medical centre in the heart of the Shore, we’ve designed our clinic with your comfort and convenience in mind.

Our large team of experienced General Practitioners and nurses work together to provide high-quality, patient-focused care. Each GP brings specialist expertise—from asthma and skin surgery to child health, obstetrics, sports medicine, and travel medicine.

Our nursing team plays a vital role in supporting patients with chronic conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, respiratory issues, and more. They provide regular health checks, care planning, education, and monitoring to help patients manage their long-term health more effectively.

We are also proud to be a teaching practice, regularly hosting GP Registrars and trainee nurses—reflecting our commitment to the future of healthcare.

The Doctors Fred Thomas welcomes new enrolments, casual patients, and visitors year-round. We offer 15-minute appointments, designed to address 1–2 health concerns per visit.
