We are an established medical practice in Invercargill, NZ. We are passionate about general practice, & are committed to resolving medical issues when you are sick & working with you to cultivate wellness. We maintain our skills & knowledge to provide you with the best possible care & evidence-based treatments. We have cared for generations of Southlanders, many cultures & ethnicities & treasure the relationship we have with our patients.
Please give our friendly team a call if you have any questions. Due to full schedules, consultations are by appointment only. We value patient-doctor confidentiality & support your right to choose who you see. We regret we are unable to enrol new patients at this time.
This practice was founded after the end of WWII in Morton St, Georgetown. It changed hands several times until Dr John Vercoe took over in 1981.
The new surgery buildings were opened at 82 Elles Road in 1994.

Weekends, weekday evenings and public holidays there is a doctor available for appointments at the Invercargill Urgent Doctor Service (telephone 2188821) situated at 103 Don St, Invercargill.

Where appropriate we do telephone consultations. A fee of $22 applies but may vary depending upon time taken.
Failed doctors’ appointments, without adequate notice incur a fee of $30. Failed nurse’s appointments incur a fee of $20.
Childhood Immunisations / Weight / BP / Pregnancy Test - no charge.
Subsidised care funding does not include consultations related to accidents, Driver’s Licence examinations, Insurance Company reports, sports related medical certificates.
We do provide publicly funded subsidised maternity care.
There is a fee ($20) for telephoned prescriptions for children under 14 years.
We may charge more if travel, extra materials, or extra time is involved.
Flu vaccinations are free for those over 65 and those with certain medical conditions- need to ask staff re eligibility.
