Description
We are an established medical practice in Invercargill, NZ. We are passionate about general practice, & are committed to resolving medical issues when you are sick & working with you to cultivate wellness. We maintain our skills & knowledge to provide you with the best possible care & evidence-based treatments. We have cared for generations of Southlanders, many cultures & ethnicities & treasure the relationship we have with our patients.
Please give our friendly team a call if you have any questions. Due to full schedules, consultations are by appointment only. We value patient-doctor confidentiality & support your right to choose who you see. We regret we are unable to enrol new patients at this time.
This practice was founded after the end of WWII in Morton St, Georgetown. It changed hands several times until Dr John Vercoe took over in 1981.
The new surgery buildings were opened at 82 Elles Road in 1994.

VercoeBrown does provide publicly funded subsidised maternity care for the First Trimester only.
Subsidised care funding does not include consultations related to accidents, Driver’s License examinations, Insurance Company reports, sports related medical certificates etc.
Please note: phone calls with the Practice Nurse may incur a charge if over 10mins in duration.

**AFTER HOURS:
As of April 2024, Invercargill after-hours care is being provided at Te Hau o Te Ora general practice on Clyde Street. The service runs from 6.00-9pm on weekdays and 12-4pm on weekends and public holidays until further notice. This is an appointment-based service. Please 0800 456 138 to arrange an appointment.

In addition, we partner with Practice Plus to provide same day (afterhours) virtual GP appointments for enrolled patients. Practice Plus is available weekdays until 10pm and weekends/public holidays (including the Tuesday at Easter) 8am-8pm. Important to note: If you are booking a virtual appointment for a child aged 13 or less (afterhours) please use the code: VBA-14 This will ensure you are not charged for this service.
