Covid-19 testing
Designated GP Practice
This practice provides a drive through Covid-19 testing facility for enrolled patients by appointment only Monday to Friday. We do occasionally have Saturday mornings available, please call to check. Patients requiring further assessment are seen in a dedicated port-a-room (red room), separated from our practice. Please call the practice for more information on 09 634 5184 or email us . There is no cost for the telephone advice or swabbing. You do not need to be enrolled at this practice for us to do Covid 19 testing. We do not give out RAT tests to patients.
We do provide testing for travel during the weekends. Please call ahead.
Testing for International Travel
This clinic provides pre-departure testing for people who are travelling within New Zealand or overseas. This may include swabbing or RAT. Payment is required at the time of testing. You do not need to make a booking for this service but need to allow for the return of swabbing results which meet your airlines' requirements. Enrolled or casual patients are accepted. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Sunday. All testing must be taken to Labtests in Mt Wellington by patient. We do not guarantee your results are back in time as this may be a processing issue at Labtests and out of our control.
Description
The Doctors Onehunga is a designated COVID-19 Swabbing Site
If you have a cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, fever, runny nose or sneezing, please contact the clinic on 09 634 5184 to arrange for a time to be swabbed by our friendly team. COVID-19 testing is FREE - you will not be charged for your swab.
You can also send us an email to covid@oam.thedoctors.co.nz - please use 'COVID Test' as the subject and include the following:
- Full name
- Date of Birth
- Address
- Contact phone number
- Details of the symptoms you are having (including the date they started)
PLEASE NOTE: The safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff is a priority for us, and so patients visiting for COVID-19 swabbing are directed to a different parking area, away from the main entrance. Swabs are carried out in your car where possible, and if an assessment is required, this is done in an isolation room.
This means that if you need to visit the clinic for another reason, for example your flu vaccine, you will not be exposed to any areas where COVID-19 swabbing is taking place.
During COVID-19 please follow the instructions at the front door when you arrive so we can prepare to welcome you.
