Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is an important step you can take to protect yourself, your kaumātua and whānau from the effects of the virus. For more information on the COVID-19 vaccines and eligibility visit Ministry of Health - COVID-19 vaccines

The majority of routine vaccinations can now be administered before, after, or at the same time as your COVID-19 vaccinations. The exception to this is the Zostavax (shingles) vaccine where a 7-day gap before or after receiving the Pfizer COVID-19 is advised. If you have any questions, please discuss with your healthcare provider.

Description

Our visionary concept of providing a centrally located, one-stop health shop where a welcoming Community GP Centre and Urgent Care Centre is located next door to a pharmacy, x-ray, ultrasound, dental, physiotherapy, specialists, complete with a relaxing café and over 150 carparks was pioneering at the time.

The Palms has adopted a number of proactive innovative approaches to dealing with patients with long-term conditions, including developing ways for our patients to better manage their own health. The Palms is particularly proud of the marked improvement in patient health outcomes, with a marked reduction in avoidable ED and hospital admissions. As well as these improved health outcomes for our patients, there has been a marked reduction in doctor and nurse workloads and stress levels.

Staff

The team at The Palms is committed to providing the highest quality health services for our patients, helping them get well, stay well, and live well.

Our team is made up of GPs (see details below under “General Practitioners”) Nurse Practitioners, Nure Prescribers, Registered Nurses and other health professionals.
