Midwifery, New Zealand, 14 November 1985
I have worked as a midwife in various settings since qualifying in Scotland 1986. I have been in independent midwifery practice since 1992. At present I am working within the West Auckland area as an independent midwife, with Karen Barnett and Linda Norman as backup midwives. I am also a registered nurse and the mother of two daughters. My interests are travelling, patchwork quilting, gardening and walking.
Pregnancy and birth are a special time in your life. Each of you will have different needs and it is important that working together we meet these. I see my role as assisting you through the birth process, encouraging you and your partner to make decisions regarding the care you require. I enjoy being a midwife and hope that with my care you have the birth experience that you hoped for and have made the transition into parenthood confidently.
I am happy to discuss your options with you during the course of your pregnancy. I look forward to hearing from you.
Years of practice: Over 20 years
