Dr Stephanie Sturm

MB ChB 1995 Auckland; FRNZCGP 2005

Dr Stephanie Sturm qualified in 1995 from the University of Auckland. She then went on to do part of an Emergency Medicine Fellowship, before deciding to switch to General Practice. She achieved her GP Fellowship in 2004 and has been a GP College Examiner and Assessor.

Stephanie no longer practices as a general practitioner, instead choosing to focus on providing Skin Cancer, Dermatology and Appearance Medicine services.

Stephanie has completed Certificates in Dermatoscopy and Skin Cancer Management and holds a Diploma in Dermatology from the Australian Institute of Dermatology. She has also completed a Diploma in Dermatoscopy. Stephanie is currently doing her 2nd year of the 2-year New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM) Diploma. Stephanie also helped set up the Skin Institute CANSI training programme for the Skin Institute nurses about 8 years ago.

Her Appearance Medicine interests lie in botulinum toxin, fillers and light-based therapies. She believes that traditional and appearance medicine work well together and can enhance one’s well-being.

Stephanie's drive for working in this industry is to service the very real need of addressing the after-effects of chronic sun-exposure: skin cancer and/or premature ageing of the skin.

Outside of work, Stephanie likes going for walks with her dog, running, doing cryptic crosswords and tramping with friends.
