Surgery to reduce large sized breasts.  Glandular tissue, fat and skin are removed and the breast is reshaped.

Excess weight and smoking adversely affect the outcome of surgery.

Breast reduction will usually only be offered to non-smoking women with BMI <30.

Not all women seeking breast reduction can be offered surgery with current resource constraints.

Clinical photographs must accompany the referral as it will assist appropriate prioritisation.
