Christchurch Resettlement Services exists to support people from refugee and migrant backgrounds living in Otautahi/Christchurch to settle successfully in Aotearoa/New Zealand by providing a range of professional services that build on strengths to promote wellbeing and resilience. CRS provides counselling for people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, either in their mother tongue, or with the support of an interpreter. While the focus is on mental health, the counselling team can provide support around family violence, relationship issues and a wide range of other issues. The counsellors are from CALD backgrounds, and are New Zealand trained and accredited. The CRS Social Work team provides generic individual and family support around resettlement issues including mental health assessment, intervention and support for people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, with the support of an interpreter. CRS is also plays an active role in Health Promotion, working with local communities to improve social inclusion and well being for people from refugee and migrant backgrounds. Mental health is a key topic of Health New Zealand and CRS supports settled refugees to provide peer education of mental health back to the community, in their mother tongue. This work is funded by the Ministry of Health and aims at reducting stigma and discrimination around mental health issues. CRS provides psychosocial and mental health services to the Muslim community following the mosque attacks of 2019.

Orbiter on Whiteleigh Ave, use the stop closest to Lincoln Road, and head towards the city - we are one block up from Whiteleigh Ave on the right hand side.
The Halswell/Queenspark bus stops directly outside our office - come to the stairs at the rear of the building.
There is free parking at the front of the building facing Clarence St South.
