Vascular Laser

Pulsed dye laser treatment is available on a limited basis.

The laser is suitable for treatment of superficial vascular lesions, particularly port wine stains of the face. 

The same laser may also be used in some forms of abnormal (hypertrophic) scarring to decrease vascularity and itch.

Treatment is performed under general anaesthesia in young children and on the face, or without need for anaesthetic in most other patients.

Typically multiple treatments are required.

Referrals should include photographs to allow grading.
