Dr Reid Ferguson

As the newest Hamilton Eye Clinic surgeon, he is passionate about supporting the Waikato community, where he grew up and completed most of his medical training. Dr. Ferguson’s approach to patient care is welcoming, compassionate, and collaborative. He provides thorough assessments, clear explanations of treatment options, and upfront discussions about expected outcomes. His calm and reassuring approach extends beyond surgical procedures to providing postoperative follow-up to ensure the best results for his patients.

When asked what inspired him to pursue a career in ophthalmology, Dr. Ferguson shared: “I was inspired to pursue a career in ophthalmology by the work of Professor Fred Hollows providing humanistic and high-quality care to people of all backgrounds. I believe it is a good honest way to make a difference in people's lives.”
