Tui Ora is the largest community-based health and social services provider in Taranaki delivering a full range of mental health and addiction supports. We are a kaupapa Māori organisation built on the aspirations of all Taranaki iwi.

This service provides alcohol and drug counselling for adults 18 years and over. It is a community outpatient based service provided by trained practitioners who work from our Hāwera, New Plymouth and Waitara offices. Services include assessment, counselling and treatment, brief intervention, relapse prevention, referral to residential treatment and AOD education. Peer supporters with lived experience around alcohol and drug addiction are also available through the Mātanga Tautoko ā-Aropā service.

This service provides community-based, recovery-focused community housing services for people who experience mental illness. Our 24-hour care and support is provided by appropriately trained and qualified staff who support recovery and rehabilitation skills.
The accommodation service is for short to medium periods of time to help people to move onto other community housing options.

Referral Process
The Smoking Cessation Referral pathway is simple. People are referred via their GPs, a smoking cessation form (Te Whatu Ora / TDHB) or Taranaki Stop Smoking Service referral form (all other referrers including self-referrals).
The Taranaki Stop Smoking Service team keeps referrers informed of a person’s progress. Email for more information, phone 0800 TUI ORA (884 672) or ask your GP.
