Profile

Tim studied medicine at St George’s Medical School in London and following qualification undertook some junior doctor hospital training posts before starting anaesthesia training in Cambridgeshire in 1995. He completed his anaesthesia training and exams on the Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals rotation and gained a certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Anaesthesia in 2003. As part of his training he spent a year at National Women's Hospital in Auckland following a special interest in obstetric anaesthesia.

Current positions: Tim accepted a position as Specialist Anaesthetist at North Shore Hospital in 2003 and has been practising there since then as clinical leader in obstetrics with other interests in bariatric, paediatric, orthopaedic, plastic and all other surgical specialities. He covers out of hours on calls for emergency anaesthesia at North Shore and Waitakere hospitals. He started working with the Anaesthesia Associates private anaesthetic group in 2005, working mainly at the Southern Cross Hospitals in Auckland.

Personal: Tim is married to a palliative care physician and has 3 teenage children. He spends his limited spare time paddling a variety of different craft and playing the drums.
