Surgery to increase breast size involves inserting silicone implants under the chest muscle and skin or grafting fat taken from other parts of the body.

The procedure involves making a cut (incision) under the breast from where the implant is inserted. The surgery is usually performed under general anaesthesia (you will sleep through it) and it will probably take 1–2 hours. You will probably be able to go home the day after the operation, but you will need to arrange for someone else to drive you.

You will need to take some medication for pain relief for 2-3 days and you should rest for a few days after the surgery. Depending on your job you will probably be able to return to work after 7-10 days. It will take several months for the scars to fade.
