Profile

Heather is a consultant plastic surgeon at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau where she is also Deputy Head of the Plastic Surgery Department. She graduated as a doctor from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in London in 1998 before pursuing general and plastic surgery training in London and Yorkshire. Heather has full plastic surgery vocational scope with the Medical Council of New Zealand and is a member of the NZ Association of Plastic Surgeons (NZAPS).

Heather was an officer in the Royal Auxiliary Air Force in the UK. She has lived in New Zealand for many years and shares her recently built home in the Bombay Hills with her family which includes five sheep, a couple of pigs, chickens and Fred the cat.

Interests

Heather specialises in all forms of skin cancer and hands, and has a subspecialty focus on melanoma at Counties Manukau. As well as general and comprehensive plastic surgery training, she has undertaken specialised fellowships in hand surgery, microsurgery and military trauma.
