David went to school in Auckland before moving to Dunedin for general medical training at Otago Medical School. After working as a house surgeon in Rotorua for two years David carried out specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in England and completed his training back in Auckland. David has been a specialist at Middlemore and National Women’s Hospitals as well as having been in private practice since 1984.

Currently David is a consultant at Middlemore Hospital.
