Living Sober

Description

Living Sober is a friendly online community where anyone can reflect on their alcohol use, and talk anonymously, confidentially, safely and honestly with others about alcohol use. This website has a large amount of content regarding achieveing and maintaining an alcohol-free life including blog posts from New Zealand's own Mrs. D, who has been very open about her own journey over the past 14+ years as well as guest posts, interviews, no-alcohol drink recipes.

Originally established in 2014, Living Sober is an online community managed by the New Zealand Drug Foundation and supported by Te Whatu Ora. The NZ Drug Foundation is a registered charity (No. CC27025).

Caring online community: Many New Zealanders visit Living Sober every day to talk honestly about their drinking habits, reflection on their drinking habits and implications it has had in their lives, and life after they quit drinking alcohol. Every person, including those who are contemplating and discovering resources, people on day 1, people on day 1 again, and people who have stopped drinking for weeks, months, years and decades are welcome. Our ethos is one of tolerance and kindness. No judgement, just understanding and support.

Tools you can use to take control: Everyone can share tips and techniques and learn from others to stay on track on the journey with contemplating and pursuing an alcohol-free life. Using the 'Sober Toolbox', 'Sober Calculator', and hearing from and relating to others who are on a similar path can be very empowering.

Wealth of content: Everyone can find advice and insight on how to reframe your thinking, with insight from people who have been there before as well as industry experts.

Free printed resources: Get a Living Sober wallet card to give to someone you are worried about. Living Sober posters and wallet cards are also ideal for any medical or community service. Order these resources free of charge from the Drug Foundation's resources page.
