Description

Our aim is to improve the quality of life for people experiencing mental health challenges through community based support. The Trust is a vehicle to improve the quality of life of people.

We believe that each individual has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and that the individual has the right to live as they see fit, without infringing on the rights of others. That without regard to: gender, sexual orientation, religion, or race, each person has the right to be recognised as a unique individual in their own right and should be respected accordingly. We believe recovery is an individual journey that we can help facilitate.

Arahura has been involved with supporting people with Mental Health difficulties in Central Auckland for over 35 years, primarily through supported accommodation - the goal is recovery.

Crossroads Clubhouse

Crossroads Clubhouse is a work-focused, peer-supported and socially inclusive community which supports adults who have suffered from a mental illness. Those who attend the Clubhouse are members and volunteer in any number of tasks which are essential in the running of our organisation. This includes administration tasks, gardening, maintenance, facilitating meetings and providing meals and sustenance to other members. Hence the focus of Crossroads Clubhouse is recovery through work. We believe this is an extremely valuable tool in enabling those who have suffered from a mental health condition to gain confidence, meaningful relationships, social inclusion, practical skills and, most importantly, paid employment in the community. For more information please view our website: www.crossroadsclubhouse.org.nz or contact us on or (09) 376 4267 / email:
