Description
Asian Family Services (AFS) provides free, professional, confidential, nationwide telephone support to Asians living in New Zealand.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we also provide emotional support through the Asian Helpline.
These services are offered in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai and Hindi. An interpreter can be arranged for other languages.
Based in Auckland, AFS has 8 staff who speak Chinese, 2 Korean staff, 2 Indian staff, 1 Vietnamese staff and 1 Thai staff.
Based in Wellington, AFS has 1 counsellor who can speak English, Japanese and Mandarin, and 2 public health promoters.
All staff are trained counsellors and social workers.
