You will be expected to attend an Assessment Interview
Based on the information we receive, and your interview, we will determine your eligibility for the service and notify you of the outcome.
If eligible, when a vacancy arises, you will have an opportunity to view the room and accept or decline our Offer of Temporary Housing.
Atareira Transitional Housing has been responding to the needs of homeless people in Wellington since 2003. We offer two houses which provide emergency accommodation for individuals for up to 12 weeks and three houses providing transitional housing for individuals for up to 6 months. We also have a limited number of transitional homes for families in a variety of communities in the Wellington Region.
While staying in a Transitional Housing home, residents take care of their own basic living needs, including:
- personal hygiene
- cleaning and cooking
- transport etc
Staff will work alongside residents to develop a Housing Action Plan to work towards finding future accommodation.
We encourage the support that residents receive from other services during their time with Easy Access Housing.
