Description

The Alcohol and Other Drug/Mental Health services at the Christchurch City Mission are consumer focused and meet the demands of people suffering from addictions and co existing mental health conditions. 

The City Mission provides detoxification, individual youth and adult counselling, a women's day programme and supportive accommodation and is responsive to the needs of clients presenting to make changes in their alcohol and other drug use. All Alcohol and Other Drug services are free of charge.

Thorpe House Residential Service

This is a residential service which provides a safe environment where people with alcohol and other drug dependence can withdraw from their substances of choice. There are 10 beds for men and women over the age of 17 years who meet the criteria.

The Mission Community Mental Health Nurse works across all City Mission services including the men’s and women’s night shelters. Clients frequently have complex physical and mental health issues which the nurse is able to help address in order to assist people to move forward with their lives.
