Description

Christchurch PHO facilitates the delivery of primary care services to their enrolled population.

The PHO is also a member of the Youth Addictions and Mental Health Alliance (YAMHA) and can facilitate entry into these additional services, if relevant.

This is a free service for eligible enrolled patients.

The Canterbury DHB funds the PHO Service.

Mon – Fri 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

The Christchurch PHO Clinicians have started face to face sessions at some of our clinics, from their private practices, although phone and visual sessions are still being offered currently.

Primary Mental Health Service

The Primary Mental Health Service includes both mental health and alcohol and other drug responses in primary care, for people who can be appropriately supported in that setting. The Service includes general practice liaison, brief interventions (up to 5 with a brief intervention coordinator), an intensive clinical service for young people, access to psychology services, extended consultations with a GP or practice nurse, and targeted GP consultations for people with a serious mental health condition, and youth aged 14-24 years. This Service can assist people with concerns such as anxiety, low mood, stress management, relationships and adjusting to work and life challenges.

Referrals are via a Christchurch PHO general practice.
